The Exacta bet can also be referred to as the Forecast bet. A Straight Exacta involves  selecting the 1st and 2nd horses home in the correct order. You can place an Exacta bet on all races with 3 or more runners. Whilst, for many, the Exacta is a challenging bet it does offer greater returns than straight win and place betting. The Exacta certainly has the potential for a big payout whilst only placing a small stake.
A €4 Straight Exacta on horses 2 and 5 means that horse 2 must come home first and horse 5 must come in second for you to win.
Exacta Banker
You can also do an Exacta banker with the Tote. To be successful the banker must win the race with the other selections filling 2nd place. The cost is as follows:
Banker to win
+2 others = €2
+3 others = €3
+ 4 others = €4 etc.
Combination Exacta 
A Combination Exacta, also be known as a Reverse Forecast, allows you to select the first and second horses home in any order. Any number of horses from 2 upwards can be selected. The more horses you select, the greater your chances of winning; however it will also increase your initial stake.
A €1 Exacta costs €1
A 3 horse all combinations Exact costs €6
A 4 horse all combinations Exacta costs €12
A 5 horse all combinations Exacta costs €20
If there is no winner of the Exacta pool then the total pool is rolled over to the next race.
