The Tote Scoop6 takes place every Saturday. The aim is to select six winners from six nominated races. On top of this there is a dividend for selecting six placed horses. Plus an added extra is that should you have been lucky enough to get all six winners correct, you have the chance to go for a bonus pool. To do this you must simply select the winner of one further race nominated by the Tote the following week.
To play the Scoop6 with the Tote it will currently cost you €2.25 (£2) to enter one horse in each of the six Scoop6 races. As with all Tote bets you can pick more horse, however, doing so will result in an increase in the cost of your bet.
Calculating the cost of your Scoop6, requires you to multiply the number of selections you have made in each race together. This will give you the number of units you have. Then multiply these units by your investment to get your total cost.
For example
Race 1: 1 horses
Race 2: 1 horses
Race 3: 2 horses
Race 4: 2 horses
Race 5: 3 horses
Race 6: 2 horses
Thus 1x1x2x2x3x2 = 24 units
24 units at €2.56 or £2 stake will cost you €61.44.
Should the Scoop6 not be won the pool rolls over to the following Saturday at which stage the pools really start to build up. When the pools become large the Scoop6 becomes a really sociable bet and often it is a syndicate that comes together to give it every chance of success.
Be careful with Non-Runners and Withdrawn horses. In this case you are automatically transferred onto the SP Favourite or in the case of joint favourites the runner with the lowest race card number. If you are following the outsiders with the intention of getting a bigger dividend make sure and keep an eye on the non-runners throughout the morning.
