A glorious evening for racing at Galway, with some rare sunshine, the 14 finalists gathered in the Parade Ring where RTE racing commentator Tracy Piggott pulled the winning ticket after the 5th race and announced the winning name!
Mrs. Devane, who is local Galway lady, played a €12 Jackpot during the Galway Summer Festival to gain entry to the draw.
And what a return she got for her money!

Cara Diamonds Galway is the first Cara Jewellers shop to open outside of Dubai and speaking in Galway during the Summer Racing festival Cara Jewellers Dubai Director Anil Pethani spoke of his delight with the way the in which the Galway shop was developing. The Cara approach was to maximise attention to detail and to ensure the highest standard of customer care while at all times providing value for money. The Cara Diamond brand also make sure to use only the highest quality certified diamonds and all of this can now be enjoyed in their Galway store according to Mr Pethani.
Cara Diamonds - Galway also operated a very successful marquee displaying and selling its exclusive brand of jewellery on the course. With the distinct advantage of being based beside the racecourse in the nearby Briarhill Shopping centre, opposite the Clayton Hotel, visitors to the marquee were treated to over 2,000 pieces to view and to purchase. With such a large selection on show, and combined with the option to design your own piece, a visit to the Cara Diamonds marquee was a must for all those attending the races this year.
